Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service exam can be hired, because the entry grade of category C allows direct recruitment.
Category: Category C (staff)
Experience: Beginners accepted.
The profile they look for:
- Know the waste collection and treatment routes well.
- Know the safety rules for hazardous waste.
- Know the site rules well.
- Wear safety shoes and use safe lifting postures.
- Show discretion, courtesy and diplomacy.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Weekend work according to a schedule.
- Remote work is not possible.
- No management role.
