Civil servants in the adjoint administratif grades can apply, as well as contract workers. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired, because the entry grade of category C allows direct recruitment.

The profile they look for:
- Know the rules of the territorial civil service
- Know how communes under 1,000 inhabitants work
- Master Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Sense of public service, discretion and confidentiality
- Good people skills and a welcoming manner
- Autonomy, method and rigour
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
