Civil servants and contract agents can apply. An entry grade in category C allows direct hiring, without a competitive exam.
Category: Category C (staff)
The profile they look for:
- Welcome the public in a friendly way.
- Know how to use cash register software.
- Know hygiene and safety rules.
- Handle stressful situations.
- Work well in a team.
- Know safe manual handling movements.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Category C post, with adjoint technique or adjoint technique principal grades.
- A contract agent may be hired if no civil servant applies.
