Civil servants and contract staff can apply. A person who has not passed a civil service competition can be hired, because the entry grade is category C.
Category: Category C (staff)
Diploma: CAP AEPE or equivalent
The profile they look for:
- Know HACCP rules and hygiene, health and safety rules.
- Be able to welcome, listen to and support families.
- Keep professional secrecy and pass on information discreetly.
- Work well in a team and adapt to changes.
- Have a public service mindset and good people skills.
2 Résumé and cover letter
A one- or two-page résumé and a short cover letter that takes up the duties of the offer with your examples. If you are a civil servant, you are often asked for your latest status decision (arrêté) and your latest annual review reports.
3 Apply

4 Interview and answer
If your application is shortlisted, the employer contacts you for an interview, often with two or three people. Prepare: why this job, your experience close to the duties, and your questions.
Good to know:
- Mandatory vaccines and mandatory certificate of good character (attestation d'honorabilité).
- Pedagogical, team and practice analysis meetings in the evening, mandatory.
- Working hours may change depending on staff absences.
- Suitable clothing for young children, and protective equipment for the kitchen.
