Can you apply?

Yes, if you are a U.S. citizen: this job is open to everyone.

  • Open to everyoneAny U.S. citizen or national can apply. Some jobs also accept non-citizens; the announcement says so.

The job is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, and people who owe allegiance to the U.S., and the agency clarifies that only U.S. citizens may apply. This job uses a special direct hire authority, so veterans' preference does not apply, though you can still claim it with proof.

  • Oversee network and system accreditation and IA workforce management.
  • Develop cybersecurity performance measures and assess program effectiveness.
  • Integrate enterprise IT, NWS and cybersecurity components into one program.

Do you qualify for NH-4?

With experience: You need at least 1 year of specialized experience at or equivalent to NH-03 (GS-13), in federal or private or public sector work. The experience must cover cybersecurity governance and risk oversight, such as leading system authorizations (ATOs), writing security policies, assessing controls and risks, and advising senior leaders.
