Purchasing Agent

What you would do

• Buy specialized prosthetics, durable medical equipment, and medical supplies based on clinical prescriptions.
• Prepare acquisition plans and procurement packages, and get vendor quotes and bids.
• Monitor contractor performance, deliveries, quality, and contract compliance.
• Manage purchase card and prosthetics obligations, reconciling expenditures and invoices.
• Verify Veteran eligibility and medical justification for requested equipment and services.
• Track inventory, equipment issuance, expiration dates, and recalls.

Do you qualify for GS-6?

With experience: You need 1 year of specialized experience at or above GS-05 level, meaning work that gave you the skills for this job. It must involve purchasing or procurement of medical equipment, prosthetic or orthotic devices, durable medical equipment, or medical supplies, such as obtaining and comparing vendor quotes or preparing purchase orders. This meets the GS-06 minimum.

With education: There is no educational substitution at this grade level. Education cannot replace experience at this grade.
