If you are shortlisted, they contact you, often by email. Interviews can be in person or by video, and some jobs also have a written or practical test. Have two or three references ready: former supervisors who know your work.
Good to know:
- Candidates must pass the WFPAT1 fitness test before hire, and some documents are due before the start date.
- Hoist roles have a weight limit of 190 lbs, not counting wildfire gear, for aircraft reasons.
- Expect long shifts, overnight work and extended stays in tents, with deployments in Alberta or abroad.
- Large fires may mean work on weekends, evenings and overnight shifts.
