The posting scope is open, so anyone who meets the requirements can apply. Final candidates need required security checks and, if they have a social work education, current Alberta College of Social Work registration.
Education: Bachelor of Social Work, or a master of social work, or a related degree, diploma or certificate with the required years of experience.
Experience: 2 years related experience with youth or young adults (equivalencies apply).
What they ask for:
- Bachelor of Social Work and 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination
- Experience working with youth or young adults in transition
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practice
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to a suitable vehicle
2 Resume and cover letter
Tailor your resume to this posting: use its words and show each requirement with a concrete example. In Canada, leave out your photo, age and marital status. Add a short cover letter if the posting asks for one or accepts it.

4 Interview, tests and references
If you are shortlisted, they contact you, often by email. Interviews can be in person or by video, and some jobs also have a written or practical test. Have two or three references ready: former supervisors who know your work.
Good to know:
- Travel is required about 50-60% of the time, with occasional overnight trips.
- Candidates need a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector, an Intervention Record Check, and a 5-year Commercial Drivers Abstract.
- Candidates pay their own costs for documents, checks and interview travel.
