This is an open competition, so anyone who meets the requirements can apply. The posting does not state citizenship or work permit rules.
Education: University graduation in a related field, such as Science, Business, Public Health or Arts. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience: 4 years of progressively responsible related experience. One year of education can replace one year of experience, and the reverse. Relevant work experience is considered.
What they ask for:
- University degree in a related field, plus 4 years of related experience, or equivalent.
- Experience in public policy development and policy analysis.
- Experience developing strategic recommendations on complex policy issues.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Experience working collaboratively in complex and changing environments.
2 Resume and cover letter
Tailor your resume to this posting: use its words and show each requirement with a concrete example. In Canada, leave out your photo, age and marital status. Add a short cover letter if the posting asks for one or accepts it.

4 Interview, tests and references
If you are shortlisted, they contact you, often by email. Interviews can be in person or by video, and some jobs also have a written or practical test. Have two or three references ready: former supervisors who know your work.
Good to know:

- The competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same or lower level across the Government of Alberta.
