1 Check who can apply You are here
Anyone who meets the listed qualifications can apply. The posting does not mention citizenship or work permit rules. Applicants must meet the requirements for paramedic employment in Ontario.
Education: Completed a MOHLTC-recognized Primary Care Paramedic course from a college or equivalent. The length of the course is not stated.
Experience: Not required. Relevant paramedic, RN, MD, military, policing or medical experience is an asset.
What they ask for:
- Completed a MOHLTC-recognized Primary Care Paramedic course or equivalent
- Passed the AEMCA exam or be AEMCA pending
- Achieve and keep Symptom Relief and Defibrillation certification
- Hold a Class F Ontario driver's licence or better
- Provide a current driver's abstract that meets City standards
- Be physically fit and available for shifts, nights, weekends and overtime
2 Resume and cover letter
Tailor your resume to this posting: use its words and show each requirement with a concrete example. In Canada, leave out your photo, age and marital status. Add a short cover letter if the posting asks for one or accepts it.

4 Interview, tests and references
If you are shortlisted, they contact you, often by email. Interviews can be in person or by video, and some jobs also have a written or practical test. Have two or three references ready: former supervisors who know your work.
Good to know:
- Two free virtual information sessions are offered on November 2 and November 13, 2026. You must register using the Teams links.
- The posting says the 2027 classes will use the higher rate of $51.33 to $55.58 per hour.
- You need proof of mandatory immunization, a Class F driver's licence and a current driver's abstract.
- The number of positions is to be confirmed (TBC).
